Recently I got a cool gig to teach a group of ladies how to crochet red velvet cupcakes for a birthday party in a stylin' Hollywood hotel. It was super fun, but it was confirmed that champagne and amigurumi do not mix -- at least not for beginners.


Oh, and did you know? I'm addicted to latch hook. I've come to find out that it really is the red-headed stepchild (please don't take offense) of arts & crafts. Ok, I'll try to squeeze some sympathy out of you: A textile group on Flickr which shall remain nameless (for now at least -- maybe I'll refer to them randomly in a future post, so tune in!), deleted my rugs from their group because they don't represent the kind of "effort" they appreciate in their group. I unleashed a special sort of vitriol in the moderator who went bananas. Who knew latch hook could be so controversial?

Anyhow, I'm loving it and just got my first commission. :P
