I found this awesome program called Build a Nest that helps women without many resources create businesses around the world. Sounds like a great idea, so I signed up. I'll be selling some of my birds through them and 25% of the sale goes directly to Build a Nest. Take me to the bird!

girl & her boat

This jacquard ribbon that I designed arrived last night. I've been so excited to receive it, I nearly kissed the mail carrier! I just listed it in my shop.

Here's my first design and printed fabric from spoonflower:

I'm so happy with how well it turned out. In the pic, I'm noticing a little stripey-ness on the background olive green. That's an artifact of my crappy camera. Thanks very much, Stephen and Kim!

abominable snowflakes

Here's a new fabric design I just sent to spoonflower. Christmas-y and a bit scary.

Put the final touches on this little lady last night. It's nice to have a new face to look at, finally. I wanted to come up with a new design and after a few weeks of sketching, she appeared (well, after some crocheting too!).

Have you heard of textile futures? Some very bizarre and exciting ideas coming out of the (what seems to be the world's only) program at St. Martin's College. I love Meixuan Chen's blooming lights.

Crochet concentration.

I love the ears, or could they be devilish horns?

The culver city artwalk happened yesterday and we were treated to lots of great art and a live brass quartet in an empty parking lot. Saw so many good pieces -- wish I had taken more pictures.
scott musgrove

elizabeth mcgrath had lots of small paintings there. I loved her frames.

Many, many more artists to see!
